Dental Implants
As the saying goes, you can only know the value something once you have lost it. Therefore, if you have ever lost one of your teeth as a result of an accident, a fight or just aging, then you must know the value of your tooth when you have it. When you lose a tooth, it changes many things about your appearance, you have to learn to chew without one or more teeth and in some cases even the way you talk and pronounce some words. But with the advancement in medical technology, you can get a new tooth or a set of new teeth to take up the empty space in your mouth. The emergence and use of dental implants is now very popular. These are artificial teeth placed in your jaw where they are held by a replacement jaw or teeth. To the eye, they appear as real and natural teeth and for the patient, they perform all the functions that a natural tooth can.
Having dental implants can greatly improve your confidence and enhance your self-esteem, which you might have lost as a result of losing your teeth. Dental implants can be used to replace one or more teeth and this can happen with the neighboring teeth not being affected in anyway. In addition, they are used for providing support to a denture and for the bridge that eliminates the need for partial denture removal.
There are several types of dental or tooth implants used today: the Subperiosteal, which are placed on the jaw top. It is common for patients who cannot use dentures and their height is little. The other type of dental implant is the Endosteal, which is the most popularly used implant. In most cases it is used as an option for patients who have bridges or removal dentures.
